While she once traveled the world as a fashion model, her sense of humor led her to become an alumni performer at Second City Toronto at nineteen years old. Monika's adept knowledge of the craft of improv granted her opportunities to teach and write Long-Form curriculums in both America and China. When asked if comedy translates in foreign countries, she says "all of us laugh at a fart." But don't take that retort to mean her comedy is lowbrow. Quite the opposite. Monika is sharp, and witty, and can bring an audience to uproarious laughter with one succinct quip. In fact, she shares a moment where her improvisation of a one-line co-star audition led to a guest star recurring role opposite Sir Patrick Stewart on the TV series Blunt Talk. If you're an improv nerd you'll geek out on this conversation. If you know nothing about improvisation you won't feel left out. Living with an autoimmune disease all of her life, Monika has found a way to educate the masses with the upcoming podcast "SICK" to be released in February 2021. Imagine being told by a physician you're too pretty to be sick, leading to a road of constant misdiagnoses. It's time the world hears the plight of those living with an autoimmune disease. https://www.tiwanafloyd.com https://www.instagram.com/lifebytiwana/ Shot: Zoom During the Pandemic Edit: Adobe Premiere Pro Music: RipL #TiwanaFloyd #MissMonikaSmith #CreativesinQuarantineSeries

Creatives in Quarantine Ep. 15 | Chris Trovador Writing Pitch Packets | Tiwana Floyd

Tiwana Floyd's video podcast series talking with creatives in quarantine New Episodes Every Tuesday https://www.tiwanafloyd.com https://www.instagram.com/quirkyful/ imdb.me/tiwana This Week's Guest Chris Trovador www.Trovador360.com IG https://www.instagram.com/trovador360/ and https://www.instagram.com/chrissostyle/ Growing up, Chris had an obsession with drawing, poetry, and music. Although, it wasn't until 2008 where he started seeing his true potential. He graduated high school, won first 1st place in an art show, and received a scholarship to learn audio engineering all at the age of seventeen. Once he graduated from The F.I.R.S.T Institute in Florida, he was in need of income, this was an opportunity to put his drawing skills to use, he sought out an apprenticeship at a local tattoo studio. In 2012, Chris was approached to teach youth art classes at The City Arts Factory. This was the moment he noticed he had a special connection between humor and art. Using humor was a way Chris could communicate with the youth while showing them how to paint. He found myself studying humor and learning that this could take him farther than ever imagined. As a Hispanic-American, Chris began to notice that entertainment was severely lacking in diversity, which drove him into writing stories that reflected his personal experiences. In 2014, Chris was accepted into the prestigious The Second City’s Directing program and began directing his own theater productions. This propelled Chris to produce "Freshcobar", a hilarious and Spanish influenced play that became The Second City's first full Hispanic ensemble. Chris created the unique variety show "Tattoo Party" fusing his love for tattoo culture and theater. He's been able to combine painting, music, stand-up, and sketch comedy in front of a live audience. Chris's hard work and dedication have given him the opportunity to be a part of The Los Angeles Diversity in Comedy Festival. Chris's ultimate desire is to help bring diverse voices to the entertainment industry while continuing to inspire, teach, and help those in marginalized communities. #ChrisTrovador #CreativesinQuarantineSeries #TiwanaFloyd

Merlin Williams | Benefits of Acupuncture | Creatives In Quarantine | Tiwana Floyd

Creatives share their origin story and how they create in quarantine. Hosted by Tiwana Floyd. New Episodes Every Tuesday https://www.tiwanafloyd.com https://www.instagram.com/quirkyful/ https://www.imdb.com/name/nm2278508/ ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: This Week's Guest Merlin Williams IG: https://www.instagram.com/healtheecareny/ https://healtheecare.com Merlin Williams is an acupuncturist and herbalist based on the Upper West Side in NYC. He's always had a passion for helping people but didn’t know that it would actualize as a future in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Martial arts was the main driving force that brought him in this direction because he wanted to learn martial discipline on a deeper level. As Merlin began to learn Chinese medicine, it later became apparent that he was trying to fill a karmic loss because there was great healing knowledge in his family that he didn’t take advantage of in the past. Unfortunately, his interest at the time wasn’t aligned with herbalism and health, "so much information that took lifetimes to discover is buried in the ground the ones that came before me" say Merlin. He later realized that his story with health was much bigger than I initially anticipated. Traveling to 28 countries over the last two decades, Merlin began to realize that every country has its own special unique healing system.  His lifelong quest is to learn as much as possible, help as many people as possible, and pass it on to the next generation. The cycle of having to relearn things and start from scratch will end with him and his family after him will be able to grab the baton to pass on the knowledge.  Books Mentioned  1.
